Well, Shannon has not gone into labor, which is is alright. Being 39 weeks, she could go at any time. The doctor today messed with some ligaments or something, but Shannon said it was uncomfortable. I personally can't wait to see my little boy =).
Now, on to more serious things... I got the first bill from my new craptastic insurance today. I guess this is the first of many bills that will be heading my way, so I guess it was inevitable. It kinda sucks, but I guess this is how it works in these lean times, but it really sucks getting these HUGE medical bills. Shannon worries about me, but I decided not to tell her the cost of things... she does not need to worry about more crap than she can handle.
After much research, I have decided on a radio: the Yaesu FT-897D. It can cover HF/UHF/VHF and handles all modes as well for each band. Nice radio, but pretty pricey. It seems that all this gear I am going to get is on the expensive side and I really wished that I would have saved a bit more money from my Army times so I could have made these advanced purchases, but this is how it is. As soon as the few big purchases are done though, they are done. Other equipment is small and cheaper to get. I vow to get all this stuff together before Dominic starts school. This stuff will make him a better rounded child, and I want him to learn skills that will be helpful, if not essential, for his future.
Work sucks, but that is not new.
Games are ok. I am gearing up to start a Zombie GURPS Lite PbP, and that should be fruitful once it gets going.
Other than all this stuff, I got nothing. Pretty much my time is taken up by getting ready for baby, caring for Shannon, work and getting as much enjoyment as I can before the baby comes. I am going to basically get no time to myself for quite some time when the baby comes, so I want to soak it up as much as I can. Hell, I do not anticipate getting any personal time until the kid is in school, which is years away =).
